Eligible applicants: the student with a high-school diploma or equivalent education.

Required documents

  • Self introduction and study plan
  • 1 copy of passport and 1 additional passport photo
  • Diploma and transcripts of highest degree earned (Apostilled certification or graduation certificate approved by the Korean embassy/consulate or the applicant’s national embassy in Korea)
  • Statement of bank resources(bank balance more than 8 million KRW, a frozen deposit for 6 month)
  • Parents’ employment and income certificate
  • Family relation certificate & copy of proof of identification in home country
  • ※ All documents must be translated into Korean or English .
    ※ Depending on your country or situation, the required documents and application submission deadline may be different. Please contact the person in charge for more information.

How to apply

Expenses for studying for 1 year

  • Tuition: KRW 1,400,000 per semester / KRW 5,600,000 for 4 semester (Discounted Fee: 15% discount applicable to GKS, CNU degree program students, exchange students, foreign faculty members, and newly admitted students recommended by partner institutions)
  • Admission fee: KRW 50,000(For the accepted candidates only)
  • Insurance: approximately KRW 70,000 won(for 7 month)
  • Dormitory fee: KRW Approx. 1,140,000~1,800,000 (6 months, Meal plan Included)
  • Pick-up cost: KRW 50,000(Option)

※ In case of any difference due to paying in US dollars and/or wire transfer, we will refund the loss or charge additional fee from fluctuation of foreign exchange rate after admission.

※ As from Mar 1 2021, international students staying in Korea are subject to a mandatory subscription to National health insurance. How to pay the tuition fees: bank transfer/deposit

  • Account holder: Language Education Center, CNU
  • Swift Code: KWABKRSE
  • Beneficiary’s name: CHONNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

※ The applicant’s name must be on the deposit slip.
※ In case of depositing the tuition in someone else’s name, please email or fax the copy of the applicant’s ID and a copy of the deposit slip to the person in charge.

Cancellation of enrollment and refunds

  • If a new student cancels a course due to personal reasons or visa non-compliance, full tuition fee, except the admission fee(KRW 50,000) will be refunded.
  • In case of class withdrawal, cancellation application and the copy of bank account should be submitted to the office.
  • The amount of the refund is as follows.
    개강전,개강후일주일 이내, 그이후로 구분하여 환불금액을 안내하는 표입니다.
